Dog health problems – Cardiac arrest
Heartworm is a parasitic disease that causes congestion in the arteries and lungs that result in a cardiac arrest in canines. Heartworm is a parasite that has affinity for the older breed in addition to the normal obesity problem. It is characterized by lethargy, restlessness difficulty in breathing and irregular pace of heart beat. Since the lung is also affected in the heartworm infestation, wheezing and soft coughs are common dog health problems. It is an age related syndrome also associated with a lower immune system. It does not have prior vaccination schedules and it cannot be cured.
The parasites tend to go and multiply in the arteries and lungs that cause clog and blockage of the major blood vessels carrying the required blood volumes for circulation. This results in congestion and thereby several dog health problems. The respiratory pathway is also blocked which acts as an additive factor enhancing the risk of an immediate cardiac arrest and hence death. Negligence of the above stated symptoms mostly results in cardiac arrest. So do not overlook such symptoms and rush your pet to the nearest vet to prevent dog health problems from eating it up.
